Portrait of Souraya, founder of ilinne

Who am I?

I am Souraya, the founder of ILINNE.

This page is a little like our first meeting. Before talking to you about the microbiome, probiotics or gut flora, I wanted to talk about myself, about why this project exists, and what it really stands for.

I am not a health professional who moved into wellbeing. My background is insurance instead: more than ten years supporting people through serious, sometimes dry subjects, where trust is built over time. I also come from strategy and communication: an Executive Master in management, training in communication and marketing, and a good ten years working freelance.

What has always driven me is not insurance as such — it is supporting people. Helping someone make sense of a complicated situation, see more clearly, make an informed decision rather than one they simply endure. And at one point in my life, that urge to support moved to a far more personal subject: the body, and how well we understand it, or do not.

Why ILINNE came about

A story in four movements.

1

The trigger

After taking preventive malaria treatment on a trip, my gut flora took a serious hit. Back home, I dragged symptoms around for nearly a year and a half despite many appointments. Tests showed nothing alarming, but the answers stayed vague and, above all, nobody offered anything concrete. In the end it was probiotics and the right support that brought my balance back.

2

The realisation

That experience was a wake-up call. Information about the microbiome exists, but it is out of reach: too technical, too scattered. A few years later, during my Executive Master at Solvay, my group and I built a business plan around probiotics that the jury received very well. It became obvious: this subject was no coincidence.

3

The second realisation

The body and work. Capable, committed people around me were slowly losing their footing: tiredness, stress, work that no longer made sense. Nobody was connecting those imbalances to the body. Many stayed in environments that no longer suited them, not for lack of courage but for lack of understanding of what they were actually going through.

4

The birth of ILINNE

ILINNE was born of that double realisation. The ambition: a simple, accessible, reliable platform that helps everyone understand their microbiome better and act on solid ground, without ever trying to replace health professionals.

“Why should what I went through keep happening to other people?”

Our vision

Understanding your microbiome, as naturally as looking after your skin.

We picture a future where digestive and mental balance is part of everyday life, with no needless complexity. Just the right keys, at the right moment.

Our mission

Helping everyone understand and listen to their body.

We open up scientific information that already exists but too often stays out of reach. We never do it alone: everything we offer is built with health professionals, so we stay rigorous rather than merely reassuring.

Above all, we guide. We never prescribe and never replace medical advice: we give each person what they need to make better-informed choices for themselves.

Our values

Eight principles that decide in our place.

01

Scientific rigour

Every piece of content is written in plain language but approved by our partner doctor before it goes out, never on the strength of a source found online.

02

Accessibility

The essentials stay free from day one, in ordinary words rather than vocabulary reserved for insiders.

03

Kindness without judgement

Digestion, stress, intimate flora: personal subjects, sometimes awkward to raise. We always pick the tone that reassures over the one that assesses.

04

Transparency

Cancel freely at any time, data protected, no hidden terms. What we announce, we hold to — and what we do not know yet, we say as well.

05

Inclusive commitment

Pricing designed so that understanding your microbiome and looking after your wellbeing stays within reach, whatever your means.

06

Teamwork and partnerships

We move forward surrounded: partner doctor, experts, laboratories, practitioners. No serious answer about the body is built alone.

07

Creativity and innovation

Making microbiome science alive and concrete, sometimes surprising, without ever sacrificing the accuracy of what is said.

08

Respect for the environment

Being 100 % digital is not neutral. We choose responsible hosting and prefer one good piece of content to many, rather than publishing for the sake of it.

A commitment beyond the screen

Part of our profits leaves the platform.

ILINNE gives part of its profits to charities working on health, education and housing for all, where the need is greatest. Because a company that talks about wellbeing has to act beyond its own platform too.

A platform built for everyday life

Support over time, wherever you are.

ILINNE is not a book, nor a one-off appointment: it is a digital platform built to support you over time, wherever you are.

A library that keeps growing

Articles and fact sheets on the microbiome, written plainly and reviewed by our partner doctor.

Podcasts

To listen to while walking, cooking or between two meetings.

Yoga classes

To follow at your own pace, at home, with no complicated equipment.

A network of professionals

Experts, laboratories and practitioners, for when you want to go further.

All of it from your computer or your phone, at any time — because looking after yourself should never depend on getting an appointment. We support individuals looking for balance as well as companies who want to take care of their teams: wellbeing does not stop at the office door.

Our commitments

Understanding what our users need.

Before any commercial decision, it is essential to understand what ILINNE's users actually go through. Our Maslow pyramid maps their needs at every level and shows precisely where ILINNE steps in.

Most users arrive with an unresolved physiological need (gut imbalance, unexplained tiredness) or a need for safety (getting to reliable information). ILINNE supports them up to the higher levels: belonging to a community that understands what they have lived, regaining confidence and energy, and making choices that fit who they are.

ESG commitment (environmental, social and governance) & SDGs

ILINNE is a mission-driven company.

Our ESG commitment is not cosmetic. It is foundational: it shapes every choice of pricing, partner selection, data governance and product development. We are aiming for B Corp certification within 5 years. We align with 6 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, not because they look good on a slide but because they describe exactly what we are building.
